Alam mo ba?
Kahit hanggang ngayon kapag may pagkakataon at
For the meantime, I visited Photofunia and I got excited upon seeing new photo effects I can try out ......
This one is my favorite ..... STENCIL
Another effect, using my other pic .... VINTAGE TV Sets
And this one....... CAPTIVITY

And because I always root for the underdogs, I was ecstatic upon hearing Ryan announced Kris Allen won. He is the perfect paradigm of a "Dark Horse". Imagine from obscurity with no fanfare at all, he emerged as a contender. He was downplayed heavily by the judges and producers even up to the finale. But despite all odds, he was still there, winning the admiration of a lot of people. It's a realization that success in the music industry does not purely rely on how high the note you can reach but it is a combination of charisma and musical talent and ingenuity. Kris Allen definitely has all three qualities and his humility played a big factor. The song "No Boundaries" suited him best....
Listen to 'No Boundaries'
Seconds hours so many days
You know what you want but how long can you wait
Every moment last forever if you feel you’ve lost your way
What if my chances are already gone
Started believing that I could be wrong
But you give me one good reason
to fight and never walk away
Coz here I am — still holding on!
Every step you climb another mountain
Every breathe its harder to believe
You’ll make it through the pain (or through all your aches and pains)
Weather the hurricane
To get to that one thing
When you think the road is going nowhere
Just when you’ve almost gave up on your dreams
Then take it by the hand and show you that you can
There are no boundaries, there are no boundaries.....
I fought to the end and stand on the edge, what if the day is as good as it gets
Don't know where the future is heading, nothing's gonna bring me down
I've jumped every bridge and I've heard every line
I've risked being safe and I always knew why
I always knew why, so here I am still holding on.
You can go higher
You can go deeper
There are no boundaries
Above and beneath you
B-reak every rule coz there’s nothing between you
and your dreams
Every step you climb another mountain
Every breathe its harder to believe
------------------------
First thing that came to mind when I learned of this week's theme "Everything is Simple" of Litratong Pinoy is this photo of an Ifugao house with an old Ifugao tribesman taking some rest, showing the simple way of life in the mountains. Everything they have there is pretty basic but the beauty of nature is more than enough to compensate for whatever they are lacking.
I wanted to update my blog so after finishing a pack of Marty's Cracklin', I thought why not blog about my favorite snack, my constant companion while bloghopping.
I had my first taste of this snack 8 months ago when a cousin dropped by our place with this on hand. I dug in and tasted it and really thought it was chicharon made of pig skin. But to my surprise, after reading the labels, they call it vegeterian chicharon because it was made from green peas. They claimed that it is 100% cholesterol free. So eating it leaves you with a guilt free feeling- yeah for my heart maybe, but how about my kidney? :) But it really tasted like the real thing, so it's a very good alternative for chicharon lovers who have cholesterol problems.
You can easily buy it now at your favorite supermarkets unlike 8 months ago, when only Robinson's Supermarket carries this item and the stocks usually run out. If you haven't tried it yet, grab a pack for just PhP 16.75, it's a great treat!

By this time, we know who are the top 2 AI finalist. Had mixed emotions with last night's results, sad seeing Danny leave but happy for Kris.
Had a great time watching Tuesday's performance. Each finalist performed two songs, one is their own choice and the other one is the judges choice.
- Adam Lambert - One by U2 (Simon Cowell's choice)
- Adam Lambert - Cryin' by Aerosmith (Adam's choice)
- Danny Gokey - Dance Little Sister by Terrence Trent D'Arby (Paula's choice)
- Danny Gokey - You are so Beautiful by Joe Cocker (Danny's choice)
- Kris Allen - Apologize by One Republic (Kara's choice)
- Kris Allen - Heartless by Kanye West (Kris' choice)

"Nang Matapos" ang tema ng Litratong Pinoy sa linggong ito at itong lahok ko ay kuha noong nakaraang taon sa Boracay. Naging posible ang kuhang ito "Nang Matapos ang Bagyong si Halong". Pagdating namin ng Boracay ay may bagyo, noong araw ng pag-alis namin ay doon sumikat ang araw. Pero kahit ganoon, naging masaya pa rin ang aming bakasyon.
-----------------------
"At the End" is the LP theme for this week and my entry is this photo taken last year in Boracay. This shot happened "At the End of the Storm Halong" When we arrived Boracay, the storm welcomed us and the day we are leaving, the sun appeared finally in its full glory. But even with the storm around, we still managed to enjoy our vacation.

This is my entry for this week's "In Memory" theme of Photo Hunt. Taken from the Echo Valley is this photo of one of the major attractions of Sagada, Mountain Province : the famous hanging coffins. This was the traditional way of burying people but not utilized anymore. To be buried this way, one needs to be married and have grandchildren. The last person buried this manner was in 1986.
Maybe for them this saying makes sense " If I want to get to heaven why would I want to be buried 6 ft underground".
In memory, this hanging coffins will forever be a remembrance of Sagada's mystifying aura.
ADDENDUM :
Received an inquiry from gabrielle that made me look into the veracity of the info I provided here which I got from wikipedia and another sagada blogger. The qualifications still hold true though. It turned out from a very reliable source, my good friend Benjch from Sagada informed me that the last person buried there was in 2007 and about 1% of the Sagada community still observe this old belief. A very small percentage nearing 0 but as long as there's 1%, the old tradition and the memory will continue to live on.

Happy Mother’s Day to my dear Mom,
Author of my personality:
Pleased, I hope, with what you read in me;
Pleased, I hope, with episodes to come.
Of all the players in my family,
The central character, whom I would plumb.
How beautiful to move in that direction!
Each to each a separate source of pleasure,
Reading in the other’s happiness,
‘Mid much description, underlying love.
So would we deepen the connection,
Discovering new passages to treasure
As we follow time towards tenderness,
Yearning for what years unread will prove.

(My first entry to Litratong Pinoy for the theme "Simula pa Lamang" - Just the Beginning - is this photo of the Manila Bay while the sun is going down. The start of sunset is the beginning of darkness. It's a delight to see how many Filipinos enjoy looking at the breathtaking beauty of the sunset. This was taken while I was on the 2nd flr of Mall of Asia last Labor Day.)
If you're looking for hotness overload, don't fail to catch X-Men Origins: Wolverine on the big screen, yeah the big screen!. Don't spoil the fun by buying the pirated leaked version, that's like watching a raw, unedited version and missing all those gorgeous looking guys doing their bigger than life portrayal.
Leading the pack is of course, the sexiest man alive, Hugh Jackman, playing as my most loved mutant Wolverine. This movie will reveal how Logan became Wolverine. His relationships with the rest of the mutants and why he became the cold, emotionless Wolverine that he is now. His journey will bring you to his relationships with his brother Victor aka Sabretooth and the love of his life Kayla Silverfox. The Gambit role went to Taylor Kitsch. I've always imagined him to be this goodlooking, exactly how I pictured him in the comics version. And dont be surprised to know who's playing Agent Zero, he's no other than Daniel Henney, the gorgeous half Korean half American actor who played Henry in one of my most faved koreanovela Kim Sam Soon. Another reason to watch is Ryan Reynolds playing Deadpool. There are talks that Reynolds will reprise Deadpool in X-Men spin off. That's something to look forward to :)
Wolverine's journey is one long run-the-gauntlet scenario, with people pounding on him from all sides until he emerges at the other end as the lone-wolf amnesiac bound for membership in the "X-Men" gang.
Run to the theaters now. Just stick around until the end of the credits for some bonus scene :)

I was tagged and invited to join this fun activity by my GT sis Utotmopink. The task is to hunt for photos that represents the weekly theme.
This photo was taken today just outside our house where my car is parked. This is just one of the stray cats who usually seek shelter from my vehicle to protect them from the sun and the rain. It's always a conscious effort to check them before we use the car in fear that we might run them over and my father never fails to give them leftovers from our lunch and dinner. It's sad that they don't have a home. I saw this TVC recently by Paws and Purina with the tagline "Homeless but not Worthless - bigyan sya ng bahay para humaba ang kanyang buhay", it was so touching that it really strucked me and I hope pet owners will heed the message.
I would like to invite the following people to join PhotoHunt
Yami of Mom Writes for a Cause
Crisiboy of Jologs na Yuppie
Badudets of Everything Nice
Dyusillicious of Pinay Travel Blog
Matt Giraud bids goodbye on his Idol journey. I'm sad as I like this guy a lot, seems like a really nice genuine guy and a great talent. The judges apparently share the same feelings and saved him twice. Oh well, only one will emerge as the winner and I hope its not Adam Lambert as I'm starting to dislike his over the top performances.
Rat Pack Standards Performances from the Top 5 :
1. Adam Lambert - Feeling Good
2. Allison Iraheta - Someone to Watch Over Me
3. Danny Gokey - Come Rain or Come Shine
4. Kris Allen - The Way You Look Tonight
5. Matt Giraud - My Funny Valentine
