Ask Me First, I Might Say YES

Weekly Photo Memes

The floods have subsided and reality sinks in. The death toll is climbing by the day and the damage to properties and crops have reached to almost 5 billion pesos. Despite all this, the Filipinos remain hopeful, MABUHAY TAYO! Let's get back on our feet and start to rehabilitate our nation. Things can only get better!

Let's keep the Pinoy spirit that despite the adversities, we can still manage to put a smile just like the photo above.

What have I learn from ONDOY?
  • To be more aware of our environment and take care of our trash
  • In the event of heavy rains, cancel all your appointments and remain at home
  • Have a disaster plan ready
  • Keep a stock of ready to eat foods and bottles of mineral water
  • Have a ready flashlight, fresh batteries and transistor radio
  • Keep my cellphone fully charged
  • Invest on life jackets for every member of the family
  • Keep a list of important numbers to call in case of emergency
  • In choosing a place to build your home, stay away from low areas and river banks
  • Material things can perished in a blink of an eye, let us instead invest on things that money cant buy like meaningful relationship with our fellowmen and with GOD
I'm sure everyone has learned a lesson or two. Let's all be prepared as another storm is approaching our shore according to PAGASA.

Another exciting Fix it Friday at I Faces. The subject for this week's edits is the under exposed photo of this cute little boy named "Wee Man".

Lightroom is the key for my edits below :

Worked around by increasing the White Balance and the Exposure. Adjust the clarity to make it sharp and adjust the Tone Curve. I cropped the photo focusing on the boy holding on to his Father's hand.

Heard about Makansutra when K.F. Seetoh was the guest chef at QTV's cooking show, Secrets of the Master. I had fun watching him display his wacky cooking skills. K.F Seetoh is a popular food celebrity, hosting a show called Makansutra at the Asian Food Channel. He founded Makansutra whose aim is to celebrate Asian Food Culture and Lifestyle.

It got me excited when I heard that Makansutra Asian Food Village has already opened here at the 2nd Flr of Manila Ocean Park near Luneta. I've had good memories of eating in a hawker style setting while I was in Singapore and Malaysia. I love Asian food and I've been craving for Roti Prata and Singaporean Laksa ever since. The place has excellent interiors and cozy ambiance, a far cry from the typical hawker setting normally found in Singapore and Malaysia. It's more similar to the one we tried at the indoor theme park of Genting Highlands in Malaysia.

When we got there, it was a holiday, the place was crowded and you have to line up to order at different counters to get what you want. It was really irritating circling around at several counters and lining up and waiting for your number to be called for each individual order. If your really hungry, this is not the best place to be. Go here, when you can count the number of the diners.

Maybe because of these irritants, the food didn't taste the way I expected it to be. The curry sauce of the roti prata is bland and the rest of our orders all taste the same, too sweet!

And the other irritant is that girl holding a plate behind this queue number prohibiting me to take pictures. It was management order to prohibit photographers and videographers. I asked the girl what's the logic behind this order and she said "to avoid people imitating their food and their logo". Oh well, that's my first time to experience and hear such remark and I think that's really dull!!! Your losing customers by implementing this rule.

Its still worth trying though, if you love to try a selection of Asian Food, this is the closest you can get. For some tips, just don't go here
  • during holidays where it can get really crowded
  • when celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, etc where taking pictures matters a lot

I missed some of my weekly memes due to my colds and my sprained right arm that limited most of my computer activities, the pain is somewhat lessened now and was able to browse for a candid shot to enter for this week's I Faces.
Here, my friends were unaware that I took this shot while they were busy laughing at some of the photos they have taken.

Got a MEME Award from a fellow Girltalk Blogger, Nicquee. Thanks for the thought sis :)

What does meme mean? In the context of web logs / 'blogs / blogging and other kinds of personal web sites it's some kind of list of questions that you saw somewhere else and you decided to answer the questions. Then someone else sees them and does them and so on and so on.*
Here are the rules of acceptance:
  1. Acknowledge the person who sent you the award.
  2. Nominate 7 other blogs.
  3. Share your 7 personality traits so we can get to know you better.
Let me break the rules here and start answering number 3 first.
  • I am single by choice and loving it.
  • I have an equally balanced mental faculties which explains why I'm a jill of all trades, master of none
  • I hate watching tearjerker moments coz it will easily make me cry.
  • I dont talk much coz it drains my energy, I'm more into listening, reading and writing.
  • Loud people and nonstop talking irritates me a lot.
  • Travelling and immersing myself into other people's culture are sure ways to lift my spirit.
  • I'm tough in the outside but soft in the inside.
That's it, short and sweet :). I'm passing this tag to this beautiful people in my blogroll.

While green makes me feel relaxed and at peace, orange on the other hand stirs my creative side. I always look forward to sunset whenever I'm on a trip.

We were hurrying up to catch the sunset at Mt Ampacao after spending some time at Lake Danum in SAGADA. Very evident is how the orange hue dominates the sky ...and how the color reflects on us while the sun is going down ...

Visit to check more photos that conveys the theme ORANGE.
